After two years of global disruption in education caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Education Minister Stephen Lecce has introduced Ontario’s Learning Recovery Action Plan. This five-point plan includes steps to strengthen learning recovery in mathematics. The largest provincial investment will go towards tutoring supports, summer learning and mental health. This will help bridge students’ learning gaps, support academic success, and focus on overall mental health and wellness. This is a positive step forward for the province and will help to ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed.

Address Deficiencies

As one of the fastest-growing programs in Ontario aimed at addressing the education gap experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic, Dropkick Math addresses deficiencies while correcting any underlying misconceptions about mathematics. Owned and operated by Ontario teachers, Dropkick Math is committed to students’ success in achieving competency in mathematics.

Dropkick Math Academy offers a different solution to hiring a tutor. We help children focus on the foundational concepts (number sense, operational sense, algebraic reasoning, and proportional reasoning), through engaging and innovative programs. By fully understanding these critical concepts, children will develop the base fundamentals of mathematics and be able to thrive in mathematics by applying newly discovered techniques.

Gaps In Learning

The Ontario Government’s Learning Recovery Action Plan will immensely help children who may have experienced gaps in learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This province-wide program will help to ensure equitable access to tutoring services for children to catch up as they start the next school year. As part of the Learning Recovery Plan, Dropkick Math will be available for student enrollment this year and into the next school year.

As we begin our partnership with the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Catholic District School Board (PVNCC), we look forward to helping children return to normalcy in their studies. By working together, we aim to help your child gain confidence in mathematics and learn the fundamentals and skills that will translate for years to come.
