All of our instructors at Dropkick Math are certified Ontario teachers who will work closely with students to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in mathematics, regardless of their starting point. This sponsorship will allow all KPDSB students to develop a strong foundation in mathematics, setting them up for success in school and life.

Global Disruption

After two years of global disruption in education caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Education Minister Stephen Lecce has introduced Ontario’s Learning Recovery Action Plan. This five-point plan includes steps to strengthen learning recovery in mathematics. The provincial investment is divided into various sections, with the most significant areas going towards tutoring supports, summer learning and mental health. This large investment into Ontario’s students will help bridge students’ learning gaps, support academic success, and focus on overall mental health and wellness. This is a positive step forward for the province and will help ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed.

Impacting The Lives Of Students

When the COVID-19 pandemic swept across the world, it caused major disruptions in the classroom, leaving many students with a significant setback in their education. In response to this, Dropkick Math was created as a way to address the educational deficiencies experienced by students during this time.

Dropkick Math is owned and operated by Ontario teachers who are committed to helping students succeed in mathematics. Dropkick Math is a unique learning environment that puts students first. By creating a culture of learning, Dropkick Math Academy provides an innovative and effective way for students to succeed. Using a variety of methods, the programs create a learning environment that is tailored to each individual student. From one-on-one tutoring to group projects, Dropkick Math Academy ensures that each student has the opportunity to learn in the way that best suits their needs. As one of the fastest-growing programs of its kind in Ontario, Dropkick Math is positively impacting many students’ lives.

A Unique Learning Environment

Mathematics is a critical subject that builds upon itself. Concepts learned in earlier grades provide the foundation for understanding more challenging material in later grades. That’s why it’s so important for children to have a strong base in mathematics.

However, with children facing a gap in learning caused by the pandemic, many are falling behind their peers. Educators worry that these students may never develop the confidence they need to succeed in mathematics if no interventions are made.

Dropkick Math Academy works with children to help boost their confidence in mathematics in a different approach than hiring a tutor. Through engaging and innovative programs, we help children focus on the foundational concepts (number sense, operational sense, algebraic reasoning, and proportional reasoning). Once children get a firm grasp on these critical concepts, they will be able to thrive in mathematics by applying newly discovered techniques.

The Right Approach

At Dropkick Math, we understand that mathematics can be difficult for some students, but we believe that every child can succeed with the right approach.

By working together, we can ensure that your child has a strong foundation in mathematics and is well-prepared for success in school and beyond. As we begin our sponsorship with The Keewatin Patricia District School Board (KPDSB)  we look forward to helping children return to normalcy in their studies.

Dropkick Math will be available for student enrollment this summer as part of the Learning Recovery Plan.
