Dropkick Math is proud to announce its partnership with the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) as part of Ontario’s Learning Recovery Action Plan for Students. WRDSB is committed to empowering all of its students with the opportunity for academic success and personal growth. As a local business located in Waterloo, we are honoured to help with their mission.
Due to the pandemic, education in Ontario has been disrupted over the past two years, and students’ learning has been negatively affected. To help address this, Education Minister Stephen Lecce has introduced Ontario’s Learning Recovery Action Plan. This five-point plan includes steps to strengthen learning recovery in mathematics and has provided the largest provincial investment going towards tutoring supports, summer learning and mental health. This is a positive step forward for the province and will help to ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed.
Funding For Tutoring Services
This wide-ranging program has been designed to help children who may have experienced gaps in learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of this action plan, the Ontario government will be providing funding to school boards and district school boards to support the delivery of tutoring services.
What this means for students of the WRDSB is that our programs at Dropkick Math Academy will be provided FREE of charge. This is a welcome development for parents and educators alike, as it will help to ensure that all children have the opportunity to succeed in the next school year.
A Unique Approach
Dropkick Math uses a unique approach to learning that has been proven effective in accelerating math proficiency. Our programs provide students with individualized attention and adapts to each student’s individual needs, providing them with the support they need to succeed. Owned and operated by Ontario teachers, Dropkick Math is committed to students’ success in achieving competency in mathematics.
Our programs offer a different solution to hiring a tutor. We help children focus on the foundational concepts (number sense, operational sense, algebraic reasoning, and proportional reasoning) through fun and interactive learning. These initiatives will help students build confidence in mathematics and succeed academically.
A Gain In Confidence
As we begin our partnership with the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB), we look forward to helping children return to normalcy in their studies. Our certified Ontario teachers aim to help your child learn the fundamentals and gain the confidence that will translate for years to come. Dropkick Math will be available for student enrollment this summer and into the next school year as part of the Learning Recovery Plan.
